Hawkinge Vehicle Services are members of the RMIF and as such are undergo regular RMIF QC assessments*. The assessment in May 2008 confirmed the continued Service and Repair QC status and referred to Hawkinge Vehicle Services as 'a friendly professionally run family business - recent investment in new diagnostic equipment and allied training are providing improved efficiency - clear concise records held both on file and on computer - this garage remains a credit to the RMI QC scheme.' |

| RMIF Quality Charter The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) is a trade association, representing franchised car dealers, independent garages, body shops, commercial vehicle dealers, motorcycle dealers, motorcycle rider training associations, petrol retailers, cherished number plate dealers, and auction houses. The RMIF was founded in 1913 and represents the interests of approximately 10,000 member businesses. It represents the interests of operators in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man providing sales and services to motorists and businesses. The RMIF has a formal association with the independent Scottish Motor Trade Association which represents the retail motor industry in Scotland. RMIF members must pass a rigorous inspection before they are admitted to the Federation. Members are expected to maintain a high standard of service for the motoring public by providing suitable premises, equipment, and trained personnel. |
| Its aims are to: |
| • increase industry standards via quality control schemes and training programmes • create conditions for more wealth and more jobs • support and represent the retail motor sector in Parliament, Government and the European Union: the RMIF represents members to the press and the motor industry, and lobbies Government on important issues |
| * RMIF QC Assessments are carried out by Caltec (ATC) Ltd who are a ISO-9001:2000 accredited specialist automotive services company that provides onsite calibration, quality assurance, specialist audits and related facilities to the automotive industry on a national basis |
